Using Law Library Databases: CALI

Accessing and Using CALI

CALI (The Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction) publishes over 1,200 interactive tutorials, free casebooks, and develops software for experiential learning. Resources are typically broken up by 1L and then 2L&3L combined. Some recommended resources to look at are:

  • CALI Lessons - interactive tutorials written by law faculty and kept up to date. They can be used to study or test your knowledge. These materials are rigorous, but short, taking 20-40 minutes to complete each lesson.
  • CALI Podcasts - 10-minute audio recordings of law professors explaining narrow legal topics in a straightforward manner
  • Law School Success Lessons - Great for students who want to improve their grades and continue to succeed. These lessons are tailored specifically to helpful tips for succeeding in Law School.

You can use the above link or access the database from the law library's database page to get to CALI. Registration for CALI: Students should have received a business card with the access code for CALI. If you did not get a card or have lost it then please come to the front circulation desk and they will be able to get you the code.

We're here to help.
